Learning, calibration & performance
v0.3July 24, 2026
A learning-and-polish pass: step-by-step tutorials for every lab, the discrepancy detector everywhere, statistical significance on the calibration pages, site-wide motion, and a faster front end.
Added
- Tutorials hub with 14 step-by-step guides — one per lab plus core concepts — with an on-lab "follow the tutorial" prompt.
- Mathematical discrepancy detector now on every lab (Odds, Strategy, Sports, Props, Casino, Datasets, Horse Racing, sport adapters, Repeated Price).
- Statistical significance on the Statistics pages: 95% Wilson intervals, a proportion z-test, and a chi-square goodness-of-fit, with per-sport calibration tables.
- Site-wide entrance animations and an animated, video-like homepage hero — all disabled under reduced-motion.
- Breadcrumbs and a calibration-statistics guide section for the Statistics area.
Changed
- Charts now load on demand (recharts is split out of every lab's initial bundle) for a lighter first load.
- Large Odds Lab simulations run in a Web Worker so the interface never freezes, even at a million iterations.
- The advertising script now defers to browser idle time to improve page-load responsiveness.
Research, compliance & content update
v0.2July 24, 2026
A broad polish pass: a rigorous math review, a first-class discrepancy detector, the blog and changelog, unique social images, and privacy/consent hardening.
Added
- Blog with categories, filtering and pagination, seeded with ten educational articles.
- This changelog, plus a Contact page and a direct research contact email.
- Mathematical discrepancy detector: model-vs-market, positive-EV, no-vig fair gap, calibration drift and arbitrage, ranked by severity.
- Unique, on-brand social (Open Graph) images for every major page and post.
- Breadcrumbs and structured data (Organization, WebSite, Article, FAQ, BreadcrumbList) across the site.
- Server-rendered educational sections on every lab explaining how to read the results.
Changed
- Rewrote per-sport scoring models (Poisson for low-scoring sports, Gaussian for high-scoring) so model and observed probabilities now calibrate.
- Refreshed the Privacy, Terms and Cookie policies with data-controller, rights, age and cookie-table detail.
Fixed
- Corrected the Kelly stake calculation and the displayed vig, which now reflects the real overround from the fair line.
- Fixed the margin-removal (de-vig) methods: power, Shin and odds-ratio now use their standard formulations.
- Removed a scoring floor that biased basketball matchups and made overtime tie-breaks unbiased.
- Fixed a large-sample crash in the Props Lab and a tail-row miscalculation in the Repeated Price experiment.
Security
- Added HTTP security headers (HSTS, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy) and a report-only Content Security Policy.
- Implemented Google Consent Mode v2 with all signals denied by default until you consent.
Novus Odds launch
